MFPP: Shieldmaiden Knits by Larissa Brown

This entry was posted on 2nd November, 2014 .
This is not designer Larissa Brown's first Viking-centric creative endeavor, but it certainly is the coziest! Welcome winter with some chunky knits inspired by those famous (infamous?) northerners:

Larissa says:
Vikings were poets and artists. Their woodwork, carvings, bracelets and intricate needle cases and combs all suggest a great passion for design. Their words and sagas show a love of bold gestures. The pieces in this collection take the gorgeous colors and textures of Malabrigo yarns, and use simple shapes and easy lace to bring about dramatic results. These are not historically accurate designs, but instead are modern pieces inspired by my research into Viking Age life.

Absolutely stunning work! MFPP stands for Malabrigo Freelance Pattern Project. Every month, we collaborate with an independent designer (or two) to bring you delightfully themed pattern collections! You can see past MFPP collections here or at the Ravelry link above!
