MFPP: North by Vivian Aubrey and Sorren Kerr
This entry was posted on 19th December, 2013 .Celebrate winter with this darling collection from designers Vivian Aubrey and Sorren Kerr- it is pretty much guaranteed to charm your socks right off. Vivian says:
I wanted to make pretty little practical things that were simple yet also strongly reminiscent of the Nordic knitting tradition. Children's clothes, especially, seem like a natural fit for the motifs and colors found throughout the North, so I set out to make things I would want to dress my own children in. I also tried to think of another knitter who perhaps just needed that extra gentle nudge to get into publishing, and Sorren is one of the most brilliant and imaginative knitters I know, I am so glad I could twist her arm to join me!And Sorren added:
I felt so honored when Vivian asked me to be apart of this project. When I found out the theme would be Nordic-inspired pixieish colorwork, my mind went right to my own Scandinavian heritage, dreams of Swedish winters, and celebrating St. Lucia day with my family every year. We don't get a lot of snow in Portland, but that won't stop me from dreaming of snow. My son who turned 2 this year inspires me every day, and I wanted to create pieces that were classic and would suit both our little men, and our little women.So. Stunning. You can see the full collection (and all the variously sized and colored samples) on Ravelry here! You can also browse past MFPPs on our Ravelry page. That's it for this year's releases- We'll see you on the other side of the holidays (may they be wonderful for all of you!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What on earth is “MFPP”? MFPP stands for Malabrigo Freelance Pattern Project. Every month, we collaborate with an independent designer (or two) to bring you delightfully themed pattern collections!
