Malabrigo Quickie: Sugar Moon Set by Jennette Cross

This entry was posted on 29th May, 2012 .
It's time for another Malabrigo Quickie! Sugar Moon Set by Jennette Cross includes two patterns and gives the collection of Quickies a cozy, christmas-y touch.     In the words of the designer:
Like my Harvest Moon Set, this is another pattern based off the colloquial names for the full moons. The Sugar Moon is one of the names for the Late Winter Moon, which usually appears in March. Other names include Crow Moon, Worm Moon, Crust Moon, and Sap Moon. I love old stories about going Sugar Mapling and when I was looking into the name of this full moon I couldn’t help but make a lofty, warm set of winter things to wear for tapping trees. I hope you’ll enjoy this set all winter long.

Written instructions on how to lessen the jogs formed when changing colours while knitting in the round are included, as well as three different sizes for the hat and two sizes for the mittens.

Each garment requires one skein of Malabrigo Twist in each colour, so if you want to knit both patterns you will need two skeins in each colour. In the sample the colours used are Ravelry Red (#611) and Natural (#63)   You can check out the Sugar Moon Set in Ravelry, or browse all our Quickies patterns at the source page! What are Malabrigo Quickies?
Quickies are small, fast projects which require only one or two skeins of yarn. Approximately every two weeks we’ll be teaming up with a talented independent designer to present an exciting new accessory (or other “small object”) pattern, showcasing one of our many yarns and colorways.
