Calico Parka Hood by Faye Kennington
This entry was posted on 15th October, 2014 .Like it or not, winter is drawing near in the northern parts... luckily for us knitters, that's no big deal. Today's Quickie will certainly keep you warm in style- introducing the Calico Parka Hood by Faye Kennington! Faye says:
One of the joys of winter is pulling a deep (faux) fur trimmed hood up and over your head. This hood can be made in 4 sizes to fit everyone. Pattern includes a photo tutorial for making and working with thrums. The hood is knit flat from shoulder to shoulder. Then the fur trim is rolled back and sewn in place and a seam is stitched up the back. Attaching icord and pompoms is the final step. What a brilliant use of Nube (our merino roving) to make furry trim! You can find the Calico Parka Hood on Ravelry here, and you can browse all the past Quickies here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ What are Malabrigo Quickies? Quickies are small, fast projects which require only one or two skeins of yarn. Approximately every two weeks we’re teaming up with a talented independent designer to present an exciting new accessory (or other “small object”) pattern, showcasing one of our many yarns and colorways.
